Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) is a science of vague assumptions based on debatable figures derived from inconclusive experiments, performed by persons of doubtful mental capability with instruments of problematic accuracy.

hahahaha and you think that means something ? There are a hundred people to take his place. In fact Bin laden and co. are glad he is gone. He was a loose cannon to them, he killed islamic civilians, taboo to their protocol. How about the fact that now we are willing to give nuclear tech to Iran .... and why ? Becuase of OIL and the threat of disruption if we were to invade or bomb!! ROFL and oil doesnt mean anything........... right ? Funniest part of the washington post artile?
:
U.S. military policy is not to aim psychological operations at Americans, said Army Col. James A. Treadwell, who commanded the U.S. military psyops unit in Iraq in 2003. "It is ingrained in U.S.: You don't psyop Americans. We just don't do it," said Treadwell.
hahahahahhaha are they fucking kidding?
hahaha
who remembers the bogus story that got us in the Original Gulf War? C'mon now, you guys still remember how the "Iraqi's where stealing and destroying baby incubators from Hospitals" don't you? lol Of course, once they were busted on the Lie, they admited to it...7 years later...but no, no we don't take part in ANY psi-ops on US residents do we....lol
what a joke

Well, if you think about it, the "reestablished Iraqi government" and Iraqi police are an American psyop. They don't do shit, but they make us think we are on our way out.

Not a lot, but being a figurehead as one of the top Iraqi dissidents... his death is something.
Neither the end-all be-all of victories as Briman posted, or insignificant as Ruck posted. It's just something positive.

who cares if he's dead? What exactly does this do for anybody? Any time a truely wicked person dies, it's a good day for all humankind. Will he be replaced? Yes. Will the al-qaeda miss a beat? Maybe one or two.

Just think of this as a comparison to the 'war on drugs' <--- (laugh) or the Mafia.
Take one down and someone else gets a promotion.
Now dont get me wrong, I dont want that to happen but ......
and DD, 95% of the worlds wealth is controlled by 5% of its population. Theres nothing wrong with that is there ?
and nice Avatar !!

One big difference with the War on Drugs, those people, the dealers, the suppliers, etc are just doing it for money. Al-qaeda is doing it for extremist views. It's alot harder to recruit for that, than it is to recruit for big bucks. Drug runners spread physical things, Al-qaeda spreads death, hate and fear.

I think you missed my point. I was talking about the similarities between the chains of command. Differences of medium aside, they are both being fought in the same fashion, and the media attention is exactly the same. One or two low ranking perps removed is not a story. Remove a top dog or alot of bottom dwellers at the same time and its on the front page.

ohh yeah, my bad, I'm not a realist
a realist would recognize that there are two sides that will be affected by Zarqawi's death in completely different ways instead of just running around like a fucking chicken with his head cut off clucking "IT'S TEH POINTLESS SOMEONE ELSE WILL TAKE HIS PLACE, BLOOD FOR OIL, ALLAH AKBAR, THE TRUTH IS OUT THERE!!!" at the top of his lungs. a realist wouldn't ignore the beneficial effects of Zarqawi's death and oversimplify the situation by claiming there are a hundred realistically potential replacements for Zarqawi. but hey, you'd already know this and follow it by example if you were a realist, right?

Read spacey's post.
Since when has killing solved any of our problems?... It doesn't work for the terrorists, and it's not going to work for the rest of the world.
Humans never learn.
