Ron Paul isn't a perfect candidate, but he's light years better than everyone else running, the exception being Mike Gravel.

He's half Republican, half Libertarian, and with Gravel banned from the Democratic Debates, he's the only candidate left who will have us out of Iraq in the next 20 years.  Every other candidate will make the situation in Iraq much worse.  I don't have to prove to anyone the Republicans will keep us there, and if you want proof that the Democrats love war, they've had control of Congress for a year now with no change whatsoever in Iraq.  It's time you democrats hold YOUR Congress accountable for what they SAID they stand for.

Neo-Con is a term standing for something not even remotely "conservative".  A Neo-Con is a big government militarist, who actually thinks it is good that we are actively militarily engaged in the 160 or so nations where we currently have troops.  Neocon's believe in low taxes, but with no intent on actually spending less, just recklessly chalking it up to national debt.

---------------

Ron Paul is a Medical Doctor and he has delivered over 4,000 babies.  He's the only candidate who will get us out of the middle east in his term, all of the other candidates will set us on a course to be there 20-75 years, or until we have a massive economic depression due to our 200 trillion dollars of debt.

I'm not surprised to see Kai refer to Paul as the Worst candidate.  No militarist is going to like the non-intervention ideals of our founding fathers; ideals Paul shares.  Paul constantly owns the Republicans at their debates.  He's the bull in Ruck's avatar.  And it's all on youtube, and it's great.

Fox news hates Paul too.  That's pretty much proof that he's worth listening to.  They actively work to censor his success and distort what he stands for.  There are alot of clips of Paul owning those Fox news douchebags in interviews, it's so great.

The Founding Fathers did not lead the world's only superpower, they founded a fledgling nation in a time of widespread tyranny. And they were not all isolationist even then. In their wisdom they allowed for the Constitution to adapt to new situations so that we could become a force for good in a world where tyranny is opposed. Now those who infringe on the rights of people to live free don't have the freedom to do it without incurring condmenation from the UN. Except the US and a few allies are left to follow through that condemnation with actual action when countries try to play games.

This is the way to change the world, backing up words and sanctions with action. And this will benefit the US in the long run, because we will gain allies as we spread democracy. If people stop watching all the left-wing media focusing on the bombings in Baghdad and look at the rest of Iraq they will see that we have saved a people from tyranny. And people that don't live in tyranny will work towards prosperity instead of trying to kill other people out of hate. Thus, the US will be safer from terrorists and will economically prosper even more. The debt is not outrageous when compared with our GDP. The investment in freedom will have returns. Hiding and hoping is not the answer.

Great Post Kai, I admire your honesty, and everything was very well said.  I used to share that exact view, and it is a wonderful dream if it were possible.
Quote
The Founding Fathers did not lead the world's only superpower, they founded a fledgling nation in a time of widespread tyranny.
So do you think that those ideals of non-intervention are now out of date?  I suggest that they are not, because the founding fathers saw first hand what terrible treatment the British had done to us.  And its not so different from what we're doing to Iraq, Afghanistan, and dozens of other nation building projects that we're involved with.  When a foreign power steps in to force a new system, it has always been rejected historically, because the foreign power cannot fundamentally understand those they are attempting to govern.  Disagree?  Give an example to the contrary.
Quote
And they were not all isolationist even then.
Non-intervention is completely different from isolationism.  We are becoming more isolated from the middle east as a result of what we are doing.  Iran had a very powerful movement forming to overthrow their government, but we are undermining that with our presence in the middle east.  The ideals of those protesters are being tainted with the actions we've taken.
Quote
Now those who infringe on the rights of people to live free don't have the freedom to do it without incurring condemnation from the UN.
So where do you draw the line?  Why aren't we in North Korea, China, Darfur, or Congo?
Quote
This is the way to change the world, backing up words and sanctions with action. And this will benefit the US in the long run, because we will gain allies as we spread democracy.
The long run?  Most of the backlash we are seeing from the middle east are a result of us fucking with them for 80 years.  The more we try to do there the less we accomplish, and the more hate and instability we create.  If we're so good at helping the "long run" Why did we sponsor the Iran-Iraq war?  Why did we support the Taliban and Bin Laden?  There is only one way to spread peace, and that is to set an example, give food, medical, and infrastructural aid to groups and nations that we feel are making the right strides, but going in with guns and bombs never works, and has never worked.  Again, if you disagree give a historical example to the contrary.
Quote
And people that don't live in tyranny will work towards prosperity instead of trying to kill other people out of hate.
But those people are trying, we are only undermining their efforts by creating hate and distrust for what they're trying to accomplish.  Remember, when you can only win by winning the hearts and minds of a nation, then you have to use methods that are capable of doing that.  Guns, violence and occupation have NEVER succeeded in that.
Quote
The debt is not outrageous when compared with our GDP.
Really? Then someone should step up and start paying it off if it's so inconsequential.  We are currently borrowing 3 Billion dollars a day from overseas.  Every great empire has died when it's run out of money.  We are no different.  Continued disregard for our debt will bite us in the ass, there's no avoiding it.  In addition to our 9 trillion dollar debt, we currently have 90 trillion more already committed to our broken national retirement programs.
Quote
The investment in freedom will have returns. Hiding and hoping is not the answer.
It's a wonderful dream, but there's nothing in history to indicate that it is possible.  The Iraq war has already lasted longer than WWII, and there is NO end in sight.  We've done what we can do, and from this point on we are only hurting the chances of Iraq's democracy surviving.  At this point, the Iraqi people have to step up and claim this democracy, we can't do anything more to convince them they want it.

On the point of the debt ....

If I remember correctly several months ago we decided to advise China that it needed to adjust its currency and stop trying to undercut us so bad. In fact I think we even pseudo-threatened them with some kind of tariff or something. The Chinese Immediately said " Oh yeah, how about we sell off several billion or so of your bonds "

We shut up REAL fast after that and not even a peep has been mentioned of it since.

Other countries OWN us when we go into debt like this.

If you can point to a time in history when a superpower overthrew a tyrant only to give control of it back to the people, by all means point it out. British or other European colonialism is not what we are doing here. The evidence of a new Iraq is there if you look for it.

We supported sides in previous wars to counter another system that oppressed its people and spread ignorance and hate, communism. The problem was we did not have the resources or the conviction then to babysit the countries into democracies then.

Kuwait (Saddam had annexed it remember)
Germany in WWII, (not to mention all of the other countries that Hitler had claimed)
Italy, WWII
The French helped us overthrow King George
The Spartans helped the Athenians overthrow their tyrant king in 510

I'm sure there are more, but it is somewhat rare, and much more common are the times it does not work.  In each of the above cases where the overthrow was successful, the population retaking control, the citizens ultimately had to stand up and work for their own government.  It's time for the Iraqi people to decide what they want, our continued presence is only hurting those goals you believe in Kai.  At this point we are only tainting our own message.

And we don't now either.  We don't have a balanced budget even prior to military spending, much less the huge increases in spending that the Iraq war has cost.

come on Iraq can't be a normal country.  The people that want control want the oil and i'm not talking about the USA.  I'm talking about your typical greedy fucks that have no clue that money doesn't make them happy.  except for the occasional paid for blow-job i suppose.  but thats just half happy.

the majority of the Iraqis put religion first not country.  And American democracy is considered the devil.

So WTF are we exactly spreading Kai?

Stop thinking like an American and think like Religion comes first.  Fuck

Replace relgion with big titties if it helps you and the titties are telling you to kill americans because they put purple bruises around the nipple.
