But we all knew that anyways didn't we ?  Some people think it reflects family values and they run presidential campaigns on it. Check out the HIGHLIGHTS section to the right on family values and other BS.

All the direct biblical links are at the end of the authors quote.

ENJOY !!

I figured I'd keep you company in this thread Ruck...

Since today's the 29th of Feb, it's kind of an 'imaginary day' so I'm going to a party tonight where you have to dress up as an imaginary character, so I'm going as Jesus.

Hahaha, don't worry, only atheists, agnostics and non-practicing going to be there tonight, otherwise I wouldn't want to go and be offensive to anyone.  Although, history does point to someone named Jesus having probably actually existed, but he was killed and died.  However, there is absolutely NO historical evidence that Moses existed, and if I had a giant beard, I'd go as him.

I have to make a crown of thorns out of something... hmm, not easy in the middle of winter.

That's because he isn't saying anything.  He's just regurgitating content he found on the web, without even making the slightest effort to express how it represents what he thinks/feels and why any of us should pay it any attention.  It's called "The Lazy Redneck Link-Fest".

So Dusty, it's okay for you to express your anger and thoughts on the racist rednecks that you see living around you, but when anyone else comments about things they see in the world as negative it isn't okay?

Rather than making generalizations, I comment on specific individuals' actions. What I do and what you do are two very different things.

Only 40% of Americans believe in Creationism, and with roughly 84% believing in some kind of God, its safe to say that most religious people don't reject Evolution.

With that said, there was a graph on Digg showing that we are in second to last place among the world's developed nations on this topic, only Turkey is more ignorant than us, with 60+% of Turks believing in Creationism.  Even IRELAND is ahead of us. Smiley

Well, the only reason that this is news is because the letter is being auctioned.  The article estimates it will go for $16,000, well I have a hunch it is going to go for A LOT more than that.

I mean, lets face it, with the credibility Einstein has, and given that a disproportionate number of the super wealthy are Atheists, there are going to be people to whom a million dollars is chump change.  And who wouldn't want this letter, given how respected it's source, and it's content.  I know if I was super wealthy, I'd be bidding, up to at LEAST 1% of my wealth.

But we always knew this about Einstein, but I guess it's good to make this a news item to stamp out those who benefit from spreading misinformation and propaganda based on Einstein's views.

I mean, a solid majority of wealthy people in the tech industry are either Atheist or Agnostic, and most of them aren't famous.  As well as other celebrities who are well spoken on the issue:
---------------------------------------
Bill Gates
Warren Buffett
the Google boys
George Carlin
John Carmack
Kurt Vonnegut
Stephen King
Christopher Hitchens
Dave Matthews
James Taylor
Uma Thurman
Penn Jillette
Teller
Woody Allen
Dave Barry
Bruce Lee
James Randi

All of these people have a huge pile of cash, and what do you buy if you already have everything you want?  You buy pieces of history that have HUGE social implications to the world.

Well, he actually does speak when he's not a part of the Penn & Teller act.  He's one of the world's leading experts on Houdini, and owns a huge number of Houdini's posessions, which he has bought at auction for BIG $.

I've seen this on the History Channel, and he has at least 5 minutes of dialogue.
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0487912/

It's a LONG Documentary (3 hours? I think), but Teller shows up first @ 2:45:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K4jF-f5xBYc  - All the other 10 parts of this show are on youtube as well.
The Documentary also goes on to show a Houdini auction, and one of his escape chambers was auctioned off for $300,000.

And here are pages to various essays, articles, and interviews of Teller.  He's a VERY well spoken Pro-Science, Pro-Atheism, and Anti-Manipulation.

$404,000 !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Awesome.  I wonder when we'll find out who the buyer was...  so far, all that has been released by the auction house is:
Quote
“a private buyer with a passion for theoretical physics and all that that entails.”

You gotta love this country, this world actually. People with no factual backing can control thousands to millions of people right to their grave. Control their every move and thought and these people have vast political outreaches as well. What a fucking shame. And this is not a republican only cancer...  that Wright idiot is on the same level as this Hagee moron.

What a fucking shame    embarassed

I'm sorry, Ruck, but comparing some of the things that Hagee has said to the comments made by Reverend Wright is just ignorant.  Calling the Catholic Church "the great whore" is nothing like calling America to task for the violence it has spread throughout history in all corners of the world or how it has treated African Americans.

Do you even think before you spew anymore?  You remind me of that radio asshole Kevin James that kept calling Obama an appeaser and comparing him to Neville Chamberlain without being able to define what an appeaser is or even relate what exactly Chamberlain was supposed to have done.  Sad.
