Why would we want another war? Because people actually believe that terrorism is a serious threat. Some even believe that if we didn't have military bases in 100+ countries around the world that the world just wouldn't know what to do without us protecting them! LOL
If our military were stationed here at home (they aren't called the Department of DEFENSE for nothing... not the Department of OFFENSE) then terrorism becomes a joke? What's Osama going to attack us in? Dingies? LOL
All we had to do to stop 9-11 was to require partitions between passengers and pilots, and then give pilots their own exterior door. (This is what middle eastern airlines have done for decades with 100% success against hi-jacking) Even 8 years later, and two NEW government "Security Agencies" (TSA, DHS) later have we done it? FUCK NO! We're insane!?!?!

The basis for these wars are such kindergarten level mis-information that it is surprising we keep falling for it. We do seem to have a big government mindset and we seem to place an excessive value on fighting and dieing for ones' country. Which I will be the first to agree, that it is a tremendous sacrifice when necessary, but if it's not necessary then people are just dieing for nothing.
And what's most bizarre about Iran is that the problems Iran has is because *WE* put them there to fight communism in Russia. Iran has a huge movement working for a democratic revolution on their own, and we aren't helping their image because we're in the middle east making a bad name for democracy.
But that doesn't explain why our government itself would want these wars..... which I don't really know. I think G.W. Bush would like to view himself as a President that did something, and in his view of the world, War is an important duty of the President. It's possible he's doing it to pad the wallets of his buddies who own contracting companies working in Iraq, but even that doesn't really make sense, because how wealthy do you really have to be to be content? Is a billionaire really that much better than a multi-millionaire? That doesn't seem to make sense.
