To say you're still in the race in case the other guy gets assassinated is as low as it gets. That's not just inappropriate, it's fear mongering, and increases the rift between the "races".
And no, there is no comparison between this and what Michelle Obama said, and I'm pretty sure McCain hasn't said anything this inflammatory (except how his views on things are viewed by opponents, which is mere political differences)
because the very soul of America is corrupt and putrid
The bad about us is absolutely dwarfed by the good. You can watch the news or read the paper, or any other medium that benefits off the sensationalized, and all you're getting is ALL the bad shit that has happened that day, week, etc. The good doesn't make the news, because most people would rather hear about the bad. But you have to take a step back and realize, that the bad shit in the media is dwarfed by the good things in this country and the world, like a visible pimple on the someone's face is dwarfed by that person's body.
But then there are some people who would rather be doom and gloom and wallow in their own carefully protected pessimism.....
