I'm not going to be Commish, I just won't have time.  I'll play this year, but I'm not going to have much time to even watch the games, much less FF.

It's gonna be luck of the draft this year for me.

Well, its true it's always luck of the draft, but the past few years I've had weekends free to watch Football.  Don't know for sure yet, but its lookin' like I'm moving to silicon valley.....  I just hope I can get the Packer games without having to buy NFL Ticket.

Are you going to place me in the "reasonable cause" testing program for performance enhancing drugs? I'm telling you it was all a communication problem.

Are those new settings the new Yahoo default ?

I think we should keep last year roster settings which where :

Quote
Roster Positions: QB, WR, WR, WR, RB, RB, TE, W/R, K, DEF, BN, BN, BN, BN, BN, BN

Instead of the new one which are:

Roster Positions: QB, WR, WR, WR, RB, RB, TE, K, DEF, DB, DL, BN, BN, BN, BN, BN, BN

I don't mind that the passing TD's are worth 4.

I think we should keep that missed FG's up to 39 yds give you -1 point like last year.

I agree with having passings yds worth a point for every 25. Last year we had 20.

Interceptions, Forced Fumbles and Fumble recovery are worth 3 points and sacks worth 2. Last year they were worth 1 less point. I don't mind this one.

Reception yds are 10 yds per point, last year they were 20 yds per point. I think they should be the same as last year.

Thoughts ?

If you had read my post, you would have seen I was trying to copy last years settings, but it looks like they didn't take... DOUCHEBAG!

oh diss.

I think last years settings are just right. I'll correct them to that.  I hate 4 point passing touchdowns.

I did read that you tried to do that. I thought maybe those were yahoo's defaults for this year since they change every year. Don't get your panties in a knot Tongue

max moves 30, 20 is too little... just my opinion joel.  Reason being is u saw what happned last year, so many injuries and maxing out 20 can really screw up teams.

I'm fine with 20 moves, that's just one of the risks of fantasy football. Last year was a freak year for injuries and it screwed a lot of us over.  I just hated when people had so many moves they were using it to screw over other people.  Anyone else have any input on this issue?

I'm feeling that 20 moves is a little low as well.  DD and I talked and, if I remember correctly, he liked the 20 move cap, but agreed it could be just a little bit higher.  I, for one, like to make a lot of moves, and if we're vigilant and let it be known that the expectation is that no one manager can pick up players just to deny them to another manager, then I think that everyone in this league is enough of a sportsman to play fair.  Not to mention there'll be enough of us bird dogging it that I don't think anyone would try to get away with anything.

So my vote is to raise the move cap to at least 30.

I agree Joel, there are risks associated with playing FF.  BUT also keep in mind that having fun is what this is all about.  If we max out our moves, then the fun is taken out as it limits pretty much everything you do to just who your benching and starting and if everyone is injured, it sets up for not wanting to play the rest of the season if all you do is lose when that could be avoided by allowing more flexibility with options remaining... like myself for example, last season I tried to compensate for all the injuries I sustained during the course of the season by making moves but ended up maxing out and could no longer try to salvage wins by dropping and picking up any longer.

I do however, agree that we need to play with real sportsmanship and not screw each other over...this is all about having fun....so its pointless to do that.

Im down with whatever rules and such are picked, im just saying I think 30 would be a good number, maybe a vote would help?

BTW the set date and time is good...Sundays always are good for me...

It's official, I'm moving to silicon valley in two weeks!  I really considered trying to not pay attention to the NFL this year, mostly because there's so much to do with your spare time in CA, but then I realized I _really_ love the NFL, and since I probably will be watching the games, then I'm going to kick myself for not playing fantasy.

Are we going with defensive players this year?  That could be good.  I have no idea how big of a role they play in scoring but I'm definitely down with trying those positions out.

Their categories for scoring are:

Sack (2)
Interception (3)
Fumble Force (3)
Fumble Recovery (3)
Touchdown (6)
Safety (2)

So, clearly not going to be very many consistent scorers here, but that's probably good because we didn't add any bench positions, so it will probably be similar to a kicker, you pick a decent one, stick with him and the week he's on bye you just pick up a sub for a week.

I do think its good we keep the whole defenses as well.
