I read that whole thing, and it hurt me.
Free trade. Free trade, free trade, free trade. God damn it, we don't need to be removing troops from the middle east just so that we have more bodies to throw in front of Russia in futile (And from their standpoint, very rightfully insulting) gestures of retardo-posturing.
We shouldn't be trying to keep Russia down, we should be trying to build Russia up so that everyone there can afford to start buying our stuff, and making stuff for everyone else to buy. World peace through capitalism. I still don't understand why people don't get this... Communism is a grossly inefficient system, but if we stopped repeatedly smacking people who disagreed with our capitalist-cocks, they'd probably stop hating us so much. Well, maybe not. All the same. Free trade, free trade, free trade. Not a perfect solution, but I've yet to hear a better one.
See, and that's what really sucks about this. America is "the" power because we let our entrepreneurs go nuts. Have an idea? Run with it, make several billion, be happy. Our leadership is a very poor representation of what it is that makes our country great. We leave our people the fuck alone (For the most part). We just need to start leaving other people the fuck alone as well.
That'd be a grand idea, huh? Having the exceptions to that rule be so rare that they are notably the exceptions? As it is, we're raising a whole new generation of Americans who, as far as they know, the US has never NOT been fucking with other peoples shit in the name of imposing our viewpoints on others. We should send Russia catalogs from every US-based business and offer them 15% off their first purchase. Sounds like a fantastic good-will gesture to me. But what do I know.
