Discuss.

Actually, first consider:

a)  Spectre will hate it.
b)  Because Spectre will hate it, his brother (soon to be The Guy Formerly Known as Fucking New Guy) will also hate it.
c)  It will make watching extra points waaay more exciting.
d) See a and b.

LOL!

Joke's aside I think it's a good idea (except for the -100 Tongue ).

If you remember correctly I was the one who proposed having more - points for missed FG's.

I would say:

Missed FGs 0-19 = -3, Missed FGs 20-29 Yards = -2, Missed FGs 30-39 Yards = -1, Missed FGs 40+ Yards = 0 (Voting closes: March 11, 2010, 05:19:57 am)

I still stand by my suggestion but I would definitely add -4 points (perhaps -5 points) for missed PAT's.

Since we are discussing proposals it would be cool if we included PPR and PPC for next year.

Hey my Tampa players weren't too shabby this year Ruck!  Mike Williams, Kellen Winslow, Josh Freeman and yes even Caddy had some great games...  This is a young team, they will only get better.  Gerald Mccoy, Sean Jones and Aqib Talib are going to dominate as a defensive unit from here on out.

After this season, i'm a big fan of those increased -points proposed last year.

Perhaps something like -6 for missed PAT would be fair?

How many punches do you deserve if you win the Fantasy Season because of kicker?  That's what i want to know.

Of the top 10 kickers owned, only 1 of them missed an extra point this year.  Mnem's kicker, the scrub from Dallas.  He missed two.

Kickers, and especially extra points, don't matter.

Although I agree with your statement we did have games decided by kickers. In the grand scheme of things Kickers and Defenses are worthless but they still take/put points. IMHO we should strongly consider this proposal.

So you're saying Mnem should have missed the playoffs?

No referring to anyone specifically, just making a point that although it's useless to waste a high pick on a kicker they can still win you games. As per our settings this year we penalized -1 pt for missing a FG from any range within 0- 39 yds yet there is no penalty for missing a PAT. That is kinda dumb.

As it is right now you can draft any kicker without any particular drawback as the most you would be penalized is -1. So if you want to gamble on a kicker who has a big leg but is inconsistent it's worth the risk 'cause if he hits a 50+ FG that's 5 points but if he misses a PAT nothing is deducted? That does not sound right to me.
