Believe without seeing.

Proof is for fools.

Just to be clear: Are you saying he's not dead?

Hypothetically, yes, that would suck. But yeah, nah, he's dead. And not releasing the pictures yet was a classy move.

Had President Obama released the photo openly, immediately, it would have been perceived (because in their religion, it is) as a slap in the face. Would have agitated the retarded hornets that aren't dead, after killing their retarded queen.

As it is, Obama watched it live. As did everyone in his cabinet. And it's on tape. And it was available to a wide swatch of elected officials of each party, very easy to get for pretty much any national-level official. So that way, a whole bunch of people have congressmen or senator who can say "I saw it, it's real."

And again, it's on tape. And there are pictures, even of his burial at sea. Another pro-trick, because putting him in the ground would have installed a shrine to the man. Pictures not released because of the same "don't stir up the hornets" mentality, but they exist, have been backed up and archived, and we'll get a chance to see them in our life times. Assuming the "we" in that "we'll" all survive another 10-50 years. They'll be declassified soon enough.

And, you know, the POTUS says he saw it... When the conservative republican was in office, I seem to remember anyone calling him a liar was pretty easily dismissed as unpatriotic. Now I'm all for freedom of speech, so I thought that was bullshit then, and still do... I just find it interesting how the stigma goes away when a moderate democrat is in office.

Conspiracy theories abound, and always will, so get used to them. We have photographic evidence of Elvis dead on a toilet, and some people insist he's alive. He's living on that secret island with JFK, and Tupac, and Biggie, and Michael Jackson, and Andy Kaufman, and R. Kelly's career.

It's the same island where they faked the moon landing!

So, this isn't going away, and the conspiracy theories wouldn't have been prevented, even if the video and photos of Osama getting shot in the head were released in real-time. So the President made the call not to stir up more shit, and to wait a while.

Now, there IS a very real argument to be made on whether or not it's morally right to have an official political policy that's designed to placate a religion, or specifically members of said...

But oddly enough, most of the real conservatives who agree with me that we shouldn't do that in theory, get REAL pissed off that us atheists now get air time and billboards to tell people that God doesn't exist.

So it's an odd debate. Lots of sides to it. I personally wouldn't have minded seeing the videos and pictures immediately - religious-sensitivity be damned. But like I said, it's rare to find many people who are willing to apply that kind of "We won't be governed by a religion!" mentality, who don't then freak out when they see people applying it to government holiday parties.  That's called the War on Christmas!?!!1!1!!!!

So, fuck it.
