I aim to please. Basketball "trick" shot: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6vWkQw8BZNMYes, I know the shot itself isn't that technically impressive due to distance. But I suck at basketball and almost died on the landing from having the ladder too far out to accommodate the rim... So... It gets videod.

You should try throwing the ball in while you're doing the flip. Get a taller ladder!

Not opposed in theory - just shot those quickly at the end of other stuff. Kind of an after-thought.
I suck at basketball, so without the ladder and the fall, I'd likely not be able to keep my attention on it.
I'll hopefully get a hold of the 8 foot A-frame I used to use for the clone pictures. That thing is amazingly secure. Then I'd not be opposed to trying something a bit harder.

I considered putting the fall itself up as it's own video, but my ego makes me put a lot of footage in each video to be "content rich." Or something.
WAAAAAAAAA!

See, I can do short, but 4 seconds seems too short for me. Too much Carlton reading and copywriting to go short-form unless I have to.
Now, I can't wait until I have 60 seconds of JUST Howitzer and I getting injured to montage together. That'll please me.

Spectre: (Which, side note, is also incidentally the name of Howitzer's cat. Small world.) What did you mean by this, more specifically? Because I've mulled it over in my head, and I think we're going to shoot one this way: The rim up, regulation height or higher (which do you guys think is better - more impressive for our purposes?), with the raft directly in front of it length-wise. The ladder on the side of the raft opposite of the rim. Now, we may have to move the hoop around the yard until we get the ladder and the raft right, but once we do, it should be no more dangerous for me to do the flip itself than it ever is. Except this time I go for height, and I release the ball after I've already flipped and am on my way to the ground. Was that what you were thinking of? Because now I really want to do that.

That's exactly it ... do the flip then release the ball (dunk it). I was looking around in youtube trying to find an example and thought this one might give you some idea: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JFTmgD-R1rs

Me looking like I might know how to play basketball for four awesome shots: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WmSQJ5scqtkMay go from a higher ladder next time, but my buddy was kind of bummed that I got it 4 times when he kept getting air... So we're saving more basketball shots for the next shoot. Not yet uploaded; I did a 9 foot ladder enough times yesterday to make me reasonably confident that I can still. I'm sure that'll end well.

War: Of all the things I'm accused of after people see these videos, rarely is "doesn't one of you have a lighter?" included. Usually people imply the opposite. Way to mix it up!
We actually had plans to build a fire hoop to throw knives through, but it was to be an attachment to the "menorah of death", which was really poorly conceptualized and executed, so it got scrapped...
Not my ball, ladder, or bball hoop. Is my raft, but we're not burning that. I used to douse parts of my body in zippo fluid and light myself on fire... But again, no fire touching the raft.
Kind of leaves me in a shit position, fire-wise. Still could never get the knives to catch, even after a coating of "burn gel." Damned things would still go out the second they spun through the air. Fucking air...

Not opposed in theory... In practice, we try not to run gas engines in a closed garage. How do you feel about flips off of moving gocarts? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IHe749xd0Jo

The last jump would have been cooler if it was a backflip.

Oh, I agree that'd be awesome. Not sure we're in a rush to try it, though; Back-flips aren't as easily contained by the raft, we've discovered. And we get injured enough. Why am I saying "we?" The last two were me, to the same spot. First the wide-angle injury shot (even though it happened second, chronologically): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c8WXeUxKty0And the first-person view of me falling 6 feet and goring myself on my friend Kenny's knees... The "Third Attempt" is where shit happens, and it's Kenny's POV: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tzqzYGZH_RM

Well, the collision was Kenny's not-sharp knee dead-center into my lower abdomen, so really, any amount of blood was too much for me. Had a bruise the size of a grapefruit for a week.
The longest-running injury from that fall was actually my thumb, which I didn't even notice was injured until the next day. I'm working on the assumption it's fractured, seeing as how everything else is healed, and that still hurts.
