I think what Zip was saying is that the radical Islamic fundamentalists aren't afraid of death...so the idea of bombing them doesn't scare them, so it wouldn't be a deterrent.

Well look. If you think that you wont be able to win, then your enemy will be taking advantage of that at your own expense (ie, what is happening now). However, once you make it sure that you are prepared to go all the way and do whatever is necessary, and you make that clear, then its really a different story. Then i believe even the radicals will think twice about blowing up a subway car.
