BKP - Quake 4 Modification - Versus Draft 1.0 - ScrotcH

Overview:

1 vs 1, or 2 vs 2 style fighter melee combat game using side scroll type view done in 100% 3D world backdrop and unique 3D character models. Players would be able to play against each other over the internet or at lans, maps would contain various styled arenas such as gothic, sci-fi, realism, and be setup for different game sizes.
The setup would be similar to what you would see in rocket arena, you can choose your arena and setup rules for your own specific match, such as combat only and no special moves or attacks, game speed, and other game play options of our choosing. Servers can setup a round based style play on each arena where if there are more than 2 players on the arena the loser would be switched out to go again against the winner until the set bout limit has been reached. Players like in other fighter games have the ability to perform combo attacks, special moves and abilities, along with unique finisher moves for visual ownage.

Features:

  • many unique and detailed arenas ranging from various styles and locations
  • many unique and original characters with their own special moves and abilities
  • 1 vs 1, or team 2 vs 2 fights in a round based system where winners are those who get the set round limit for, best of 3, best of 5, ect. (can be configured in game before match starts)
  • many in game configureable arena/gameplay settings, from speed, limitations, teams, team colours and names, ect.
  • original music score to fit pace of the fighter (its not a fighter without a kickass score). music can be changed via ingame jukebox, or disabled all together.
  • map system similar to rocket arena with branching arenas from 1 central hub used to setup matches between players and chat between themselves. (chat is limited to arenas once joined to reduce spam)

sounds like a lot of work!

yes it would, but be fun I think.

I agree, it does sound like a great idea that hasn’t be touched upon with all the new engines. I look forward to seeing how this plays out.
