Yo’g!
The title isn’t just my normal rampant egotism (though there will be some of that), it’s the name of a new TV show on SyFy.
You know those cliche’ clip shows where comedians and B-C-D celebrities sit around making fun of people in web videos? Well, “Insane or Inspired” is one of those. The best one of those ever, because Howitzer and I will be featured on an upcoming episode.

I’m not sure when our episode will air, but the ep’s name is “25 Biggest Backyard Stunts” if any of you see a commercial for the show in the next few weeks. Otherwise, check back: As soon as I know the air date, I’ll share. Because, of course, of rampant egotism.
Anyone care to place bets as to which side of the spectrum our dumb asses land on? Possibly literally depending on which clips they use, though I know they’ll be focusing on our knife catching.
Marginally related - Our 100th video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mQVrEzRO9Gg
Still waiting on Johnny Cash.
Meh, I’m having enough trouble getting YouTube to allow me full rights on videos with songs we created entirely in-house. Really made me weary of using any popular songs. The one on the 100th video there is an old friend’s band, or I wouldn’t have used that.
Next Friday - June 8th, 2012 - at 10 PM eastern standard time on SyFy Channel. "Insane or Inspired? : 25 Biggest Backyard Stunts.
That’d be when and where we’re going to be on TV. Now, not sure whether we’re going to be lauded or mocked… But, for TV exposure, I’ll be perfectly happy either way.
Them bastardly bastards aren’t putting a link up to the whole episode, but as luck would have it, 90% of our segment is an exception:

They actually used a bunch of our stuff as stock through-out the episode. Fairly pleased with it.
Hulu doesn’t work in Canada but from what I’ve seen from you’re Youtube videos I can only imagine what was filmed. How many times have you guys seriously cut yourselves training from something like this?
Hey Scrotch,
While I understand it has a lot to do with marketing deals and restrictions, I still don’t quite “get” why so many media sites can’t make deals that make streaming to Canada possible. Smaller third-world nations, fine, they don’t get streaming… But Canada? Bastards.
Um… Cuts do happen. More to Howitzer than to me these days, but I’ve got a few years of knifing over him still, so it’ll curb itself eventually.
I’ve maybe had 3 dozen real cuts in the last 5-6 years - 2 dozen of which happened in the first year I was “juggling” - most all of them easily handled with liquid bandage. Now, a few of them would have prompted most people to go get stitches, honestly, but after working in a kitchen for as long as I did, you start to see how even some rather gnarly wounds can be dealt with 100% safely at home, assuming you have the right first aid supplies.
The most recent semi-serious cut I got I actually felt quite stupid about. It was the first time Howitzer’s mom had ever seen us do the knife catching shtick (she didn’t even know that was a thing until 5 minutes earlier), and I was showing off waaaaay too much. I can, theoretically, catch a knife behind my head when I’m practiced up enough.
That day, I was not practiced up enough, and I had to explain calmly to Howi’s mom why she SHOULDN’T get freaked out by the 1-inch gash on my wrist, because I hadn’t hit a major artery, and I’d be able to seal it up myself without a problem. I actually kept catching a good ten minutes after I got cut before I acknowledged it happened… Pride’s a bitch.
Slightly motion-blurred, as a knife was coming as me at the time, but you can see it on my right wrist.
