Quake 2 Installer: (Thank Xterm) Note: You’re better off installing q2 if you still have the disc. This version of q2 is cracked out for premium FPS and visibility but looks like one of Q’s acid trips.

Q2JB files: (Thank mJo for finding and Jadzia for hosting) Right now all you need is the jb25cl.zip. Hopefully we can convince the server admins at tastyspleen to host the other map packs because I think we can all agree TRXN are talented coders but unimaginative mappers.

r_fullbright Default: 0 Toggle the use of maximum texture brightness.

vid_gamma Default 1

both fullbright and gamma settings either make my q2 way to dark or way to bright, so I found something that I’m going to try tonight,
in the config.cfg there’s a set gl_modulate “x.x” and I’ve read that a value of 3.0 may fix my issue.

edit: yup brightness issue fixed with gl_modulate

whats also useful is to bind a key to connect to the server,

eg:

bind b connect 74.54.186.226:27921

so enter the game (CD version) which will be available soon and just hit b or whatever key you decide upon

Sounds fun my laptop’s mobility radeon won’t give me card graphics but software graphic in quake2 and that sucks :frowning:

Guys, I think we will typically be planning for Friday and Saturday nights. Certainly any other time is fine as well, but so far those two times seem to work best.
