Heading to San Juan PR on Sunday. Any suggestions on what to do there? That is, besides hitting it hard.
How long will you be there for?

Will you have a car? Do you only want to stay near San Juan or you want to wander about the island?
i’m going with my gf. we won’t have a car but we plan to travel and see whats around. will end up using taxis most of the time.
If you’re staying mainly in San Juan you can pretty much walk/take a cab to most places and just crash whatever.
I would suggest you take some time and go to El Yunque National Forest. If I’m not mistaken it’s the only rainforest in all of the U.S.
For beaches I would highly recommend you try and take the ferry to Culebra or Vieques. You won’t find prettier beaches than those two since they are pristine. The one’s in the mainland are nice but they are definitely not pristine.
Good call on the El Yunque Spectre. That was a lot of fun.
I didn’t get a chance to go to Vieques but we visited some beaches off the main island which were nice. We stayed at isla verde and the public beaches there were good but defintely not great. We also endeded up going to Ponce but the beach there kinda sucked.
Now i have a much better idea where to go next time.
The beaches in Ponce are not that nice. Next time you go let me know and I’ll give you a list of beaches in the mainland that are actually nice. The problem is you will definitely need a car. Next time you should also try and do the Bioluminescent Bay.
I’m from Ponce and I never even went to the beach there. We usually go to Salinas.

My next trip to Caribbean will probably be Bahamas again in the winter. PR is nice but its like going to another state.
It is if you stay in San Juan. If you had transportation you could go to some really nice places.
